Want to fire breath? What to learn some magic? Well that's what I am going to be doing at the convention this year! I run my own children's birthday party company and I do magic at weddings as well as fire breathing etc. I am a professional actor, puppeteer and entertainer for both adults and children.
Physicist and editor Alexander Pawlak became a fan of Hitchhiker's by watching the first German broadcast of the TV series in 1984. In March 2000, at the start of his career in science journalism he got the chance to interview Douglas Adams in Berlin.
Sue Adams is three years younger than her brother Douglas. When their parents split she moved to Brentwood with her mother and brother, and whilst Douglas went to school in the town she went to Felixstowe College as Bentwood School did not take girls then.
After Douglas's death she was involved in setting up the series of Memorial Lectures that have raised money for environmental causes like Save the Rhino that were close to his heart, and the Virtual 60th Birthday Party that celebrated his life and work.
David Learner's involvement with Hitchhiker's goes back to early 1980.
EJ Jackson is the author of 'The Journey & Other Short Stories’ (‘science fiction stories with a twist’) and 'The Methuselah Paradox' (a contemporary detective story with a premise firmly rooted in speculative fiction).
Dr Emma is a physicist and science presenter who works for the Royal Institution Science in Schools programme, doing fun and exciting science shows for kids and grown ups which involve fabulous experiments and plenty of explosions!
She will be bringing along some of her favourite demonstrations to share with us at LL3 in a science show which promises to be the best bang since the big one....
In the 1990s MJ Simpson was ZZ9 newsletter editor, then President, then honorary ‘Research Archivist’, as well as Deputy Editor of SFX. He wrote The Pocket Essential Hitchhiker’s Guide, Hitchhiker: A Biography of Douglas Adams and the new stuff in the third edition of Don’t Panic, and ran a website called Planet Magrathea. He gave up being a Hitchhiker expert in 2005 when Martin Freeman criticised his tie but rejoined ZZ9 two years ago. Simo was at both the previous Lazlar Lyricons and has forgotten more than you will ever know.
Jonny Nexus started out writing humour pieces for pen-and-paper roleplaying games before moving into fiction with his ENnie-nominated, self-published novel of roleplaying gods, Game Night. He has since published a second novel, If Pigs Could Fly. Originally from London, he now works in IT, and is exiled by marriage to Lancashire.
